Ampleforth Abbey


Ampleforth Abbey bring the prayerful, peaceful atmosphere of the abbey into daily life, wherever you happen to be, with their Home Retreats.

Offering spiritual and sometimes challenging reflections, Home Retreats are released on Saturdays at 11.00am and last between 10 and 30 minutes.

Adult Faith Formation:
Bible Study: The Chosen

Resuming Friday 10th April

This takes place at St John the Evangelist, Chapel Lane, Burscough, L40 7RA every Friday 10:45am-12:15pm. All welcome!

The Chosen tells the story of the people in the 1st century who encountered Jesus and how it changed their lives. It has been translated into many languages and seen by millions.
The group meets every Friday to watch and discuss the verses of the bible that this TV Series is based on, on an episode by episode basis.
All are very welcome!
You don’t need to have watched previous episodes to join in and you don’t need to attend every session.

Online Alpha Course

The Archdiocese of Liverpool begins a new 11-week online Alpha Course, running weekly every Thursday, from 15th January until 26 March, 6:45 – 8:00pm, online. Alpha is an opportunity to explore life, faith and meaning in a friendly and open environment.
