Crafting the Word of the Lord
at
Our Lady and All Saints Church<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A unique handcrafted exhibition of biblical stories will be held in our church, starting Monday 7th until Friday 11th September<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrance is free but donations welcomed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA unique, visual and tactile<\/em><\/strong> presentation of biblical stories\u201d<\/em><\/strong> created by Francesca Vause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Francesca has previously held this exhibition in other parishes in the Archdiocese and we are pleased to welcome her to Our Lady and All Saints!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to the students from West Lancashire Community High School, who have worked for an afternoon every week since September,

West Lancashire Community High School in Skelmersdale is an establishment for students aged 11-19 with a range of learning difficulties. The visits have formed part of their work experience, helping them to develop skills for the workplace.

Message from the school staff, \u201cThe students have enjoyed working at the church and would love to welcome anyone from the parish to visit our community cafe The Hub, on Sandy Lane Precinct, Skelmersdale\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hub is located opposite the Co-op, postcode WN8 8LQ. The cafe is entirely operated by Key Stage 5 students, helping prepare them for life outside the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magnifica humanitas:
On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of  Artificial Intelligence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Much has been written and debated about Pope Leo\u2019s first encyclical Magnifica humanitas: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of  Artificial Intelligence, which addresses one of the principal challenges of the contemporary age: artificial intelligence.
Pope Leo’s first encyclical<\/a> has given us much to think about. But what does it all mean?
Liverpool Archdiocese has some resources breaking down the Pope’s message, and what it means for us:

The Catholic Truth Society have shared explainers from Sr Carino<\/a> and Prof. Jacob Phillips<\/a>, as well as a video of their roundtable discussion<\/a> about the encyclical.
CAFOD has given a quick primer<\/a>  on what Magnifica Humanitas<\/em> is about and what it means for the Catholic community.
If you want to delve in deeper, Ascension Press has written a comprehensive overview<\/a> of the key points and themes of Magnifica<\/em> Humanitas<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his book, \u2018Hail Holy Queen\u2019, Scott Hahn, a former Baptist minister, now a Catholic explains the solid scriptural roots of the title of ‘The Queen Mother’, assigned to Our Lady.

The archdiocese is organising a trip to FLAME – the largest Catholic youth event in the country where 10,000 young people gather together at Wembley Arena to listen to speakers, pray and praise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Offering spiritual and sometimes challenging reflections, Home Retreats<\/strong> are released on Saturdays at 11.00am and last between 10 and 30 minutes.
