Songs of Love & Praise: David Massam at
Our Lady & All Saints

What a fantastic evening we had last Sunday!
David Massam’s concert was full of joy, warmth and incredible talent, which captivated everyone from start to finish, and created a wonderful atmosphere in church.

Thanks David, and singers Becca, Ben, Amanda and Lottie for sharing your wonderful voices with our parish and village community, making it an evening to remember. You had the audience singing in their seats and shedding the occasional tear of emotion!

Thanks to everyone who came along and who supported the event in other ways.
And finally, thanks to the ‘behind the scenes’ volunteers, without whom the event could not have taken place!
The total monies raised of £1,944.94, was split between two charities, Bebe’s Hive CIC and
Our Lady and All Saints Church Building Fund.

If you missed this concert but would like to see David again, he will be performing at St Thomas’ Church, Lydiate at
4:00pm, Sunday 16th November.
Tickets are available by emailing: admin@st-thomas-lydiate.co.uk

Faith Walk

What an enjoyable afternoon we had on our Faith walk! Up hill, down dale and a few stiles to challenge, with stopping points for prayer and reflection.

Assisted Suicide
The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

Taken from Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales website:

When a Bill on assisted suicide – so-called assisted dying – started its passage through parliament in September 2024, our Lead Bishop for Life Issues, Archbishop John Sherrington, called for Catholics to unite in prayer and compassionate action.

That call is renewed now as the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, tabled by Labour MP Kim Leadbeater, has passed through the House of Commons and is now with the House of Lords.

Our clear principled objection to the Bill remains. The House of Lords has a responsibility to scrutinise the Bill in depth and reject it if necessary. The Bill could also end up back in the House of Commons.

Contact a Peer in the House of Lords

Unlike MPs, Members of the House of Lords do not have constituents, meaning there is not a Peer whose job it is to represent you based on the area of the country in which you live.

For this reason you should take some time to think about which Peer you will write to and why, such as whether you have a personal or professional connection with them, or you have professional expertise in medicine or healthcare.

We have provided
full guidance to help you write to a Peer.
